International Tax Adviser
Income tax preparation and audit representation represent a second career for me. Before opening my tax practice in 2006, I was the executive director of a nationwide children’s literacy program. Leading this organization gave me insight into the financial, tax, and accounting systems of a charitable organization. I quickly realized that I had an affinity for tax and accounting. They came easily to me.
When it was time for a change, it seemed like a natural transition from leading a nonprofit organization to applying what I’d learned there to my own business, and Fortunate Fields was born. Since opening the doors in 2006, Fortunate Fields has grown into a thriving and interesting organization that helps a wide variety of tax and business clients. As my practice grew in size and scope, I began to see more international tax issues. Realizing I had gaps in my knowledge, I threw myself into continuing education in the international tax arena. Along the way, I met Marina and MHTax. We’ve been friends, colleagues, and have collaborated on tax work for quite some time now.
I have a master of public administration degree and a bachelor degree in foreign languages and communications. I’m married to my sweetie, and love art, travel, and spending time with friends and family.
