I joined MHTax as a Swiss-US cross-border adviser in 2019, after teaming up with Marina at White Lighthouse Investment Management, where we both also work as Cross-Border Wealth Managers. I am a CFP® professional and a CFA charter-holder, and my specialization is in US-Swiss cross-border financial planning.
I majored in economics (lic. oec. publ.) at the University of Zurich with a focus on environmental and political economics and on understanding how ‘rational’ behavior of individuals could lead to socially, environmentally and institutionally undesirable outcomes. Before and during my studies, I worked at IBM and later at the trading pits of the Swiss Stock Exchange, which allowed me to travel extensively in Latin America during the late 80’s and early 90’s.
Born in the US but raised in Switzerland, I always had the desire to live and work in the United States. I joined Julius Baer in their alternative investment management area after my studies, which allowed me to relocate to New York in early 2001. I later moved on to American Express Financial Advisers and Standard Chartered Bank, where I was ultimately in charge of the firm’s fund of hedge fund business.
Moving to Switzerland in 2010, I joined Falcon Private Bank, where I led all the bank’s investment management, advisory and investment funds business across all domestic and international locations. I also was the chairman of the board of directors of the firm’s fund management entity in Luxembourg and served on the board of directors of the firm’s subsidiary in Dubai.
I currently live in Zurich, Switzerland with my wife and young daughters. In my free time I take advantage of the stunning natural beauty of the Swiss Alps by snowboarding in the winter and mountain biking in the summer.
