What personal data we collect & why we collect it

 

Personally Identifying Data

If you are our client, we collect your Personal Data necessary to prepare your tax and informational filings, or the data needed for tax planning and/or tax consulting per your signed agreement with MHTax. Personal Data means data about a living individual who can be identified from those data (or from those and other information either in our possession or likely to come into our possession).

 

Contact forms

If you use our website to contact us; your form entries are stored in MHTax’s WordPress database.

 

Cookies

MHTax does not use tracking or login cookies.

 

Embedded Content from Other Websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

 

Analytics

MHTax does not currently use analytics.

 

Who we share your data with

If you are our client, we share your Personal Data with the appropriate tax, reporting authorities, or agents you designate, only when your specific permission is granted in writing or via signed electronic filing authorization documents.

 

How do we process your data?

We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our services.
These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
For example, we use tax preparation software which contains your taxpayer identification number and other personal data, such as your address and birth date. This information is then transmitted to the appropriate reporting authority only when we have obtained your written authorization to do so.

 

How long we retain your data

MHTax will retain your Personal Data only for as long as we are required to by law. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

 

What rights you have over your data

MHTax aims to take reasonable steps to allow you to correct, amend, delete, or limit the use of your Personal Data where legally possible.

What data breach procedures we have in place

If MHTax detects a data breach we are obligated to report the breach to the relevant authorities within 72 hours, unless the breach is considered harmless and poses no risk to individual data. If a breach is high-risk, we must inform the impacted individuals right away.

 

What third parties we receive data from

If you are our client we can receive data from any agents or agencies that you designate with your specific written permission.
